When Rain Falls
The rains staccato on the roof,
by Daniel Lloyd Kennedy
Provides us with the verbal proof,
That truly rain is falling down,
Falling gently on the ground.
And when the rain falls on the ground,
And makes that pitter patter sound,
A rhythmic sound that soothes the soul,
Like gentle rain this seems the goal.
But it can fall and then it stops,
And start again with great big drops,
Sometimes it falls so very hard,
That floods will leave the landscape scarred.
But when the force is like a gale,
And hearts beat fast and faces pale,
Anxiety sometimes sets in,
And fear can rule when sound is din.
So if you find yourself outside,
Far from someplace you can hide,
With no protection as of yet,
For sure you'll find that you get wet.
