When The Winds Of Heaven Dance

Poem By Anji Carter

When the winds of Heaven dance
Can you recognize the rhythm
Is it something that you're sure
You've heard before?

When they glance across your cheek
Do you recognize their vision?
Did you see that look once
Gazing through some door?

Does Paradise exist
Within the essence of your being?
Have you felt the sun's rays
Kissing on your shores?

Have you chased the stars
With childish mirth
And spun each in its path?
Found rainbows in each teardrop
And muscles as you laughed?

Do the wings you have lie folded
Tightly strapped against your chest?
Have you overlooked their physics
Whilst you've worn them as a vest?

Or do you yearn to stretch them?
Unfolding to the sky.
Could you desire to share the winds of heaven
With your eyes?
Will you let them pass you by?
No I cannot!
Not I.

My breaths gave you your first taste of air,

Sometimes my mind can feel so strange,
An endless teeming mountain range.
A snow of thoughts, falling swift,

I'Ve Learnt How To Walk In The Sunshine

I've learned how to walk in the sunshine,
There's plenty for any who try.
The curtains are open, it's daytime,
There's not much to see in the night.

These strange confused contusions, are they a part of me?
And if they are, then why are they?
I have a mind that runs at tangents, tying itself in knots,
It's always getting lost.

Mercury Is The Moment

Will I be drawn by what I knew before?
Life is a whirlpool, I am very small.
Dreams are like clouds, evaporate too soon.
They carry thoughts and aspirations,
