Where Freedom Has No Worth

Send me not O Lord
Into that place called 'hell'
Where human freedom has no worth
Where I am no more than a machine
A mere tool in the hands of the powerful
Where thy gift of intelligence is not respected
And where human creativity is mocked at

Send me not O Lord,
Into that place called 'hell'
Where reason is an object of disdain
Where I am no better than a remote-control
To be used and then thrown aside
Where my brains would throb within my head
Yearning to be used now and then

Send me not O Lord,
Into that place called 'hell'
Where there are only orders to be obeyed
And opinions seldom esteemed
Where thy human being is brutally punished
For that heinous crime
Of being born a human
With reason, will and intelligence.
