Where I Belong
Sitting in the car, my stomach hurled
by kristin gee
Anxiously awaiting my favorite place in the world
Nine hours away, only come once a year
Been waiting so long, can’t believe it’s finally here.
So excited to be able to get out in the water
Fishing with my favorite man, just father and daughter
Leave the dock at noon, and don’t come back till ten
Happy to know that, tomorrow, I’ll do it all again.
Middle of no where, disserted and free
Just me, my family, and the beautiful sea
No drama, no issues, no getting annoyed
Shutting out everything, no more getting paranoid.
My home away from home, I feel like I belong
The love I feel for this place is so incredibly strong
I hate when I need to leave, but it’ll all be fine
I’ll just have to wait until I am here next time.
