Who Has Given You The Right?
VJ vaiah jones ( / )

Who Has Given You The Right?

Who has given you the right-
To play God in people’s lives?
It was all one-sided!
Then why all this farce?
Delineating words, verdicts and even sex
As if giving alms to beggars
At the gates of temples or mosques?

Who has given you the right?

Who has given you the right-
To enmesh us in cobwebs
Of shrewd professional diplomacy?
As if we were born with straw-stuffed brains
To be robots in your almighty tyranny.

Who has given you the right?

Who has given you the right-
To play squash with tender souls
Pounding them, dashing them,
Tending them and thrusting them back again,
In a game you play alone
With no counterparts,
Wherein it’s both ways your game?

Who has given you the right?

Who has given you the right -
To treat us like black and white inanimate pieces
You manipulate on your chess board?
Or cards you play Patience with
To entertain your leisure?

Who has given you the right?

Who has given you the right-
To toss me about
Like a pebble long forgotten,
You recovered from your pocket
Just the way you left it?

Who has given you the right?

I opened my heart to you,
Placed my soul in your hands
Trusted - you would handle with care.
But you ripped it, crushed it,
And smashed it to pieces.

I let you do it,
Yes, I let you do it.
This is also love -
Letting a sadomasochist
Recreate himself
At the cost of your bleeding self.

Shame on you.
