Who Knows?

How many hours in a mile
How many tears in a smile
Is Yellow Square, or is it round
When silence is the only sound.

How much love will it take
To heal the heart that did break
How many prisoners of regret
Can forgive but rarely forget

How many tomorrows lost
For the want of yesterdays cost
Words unspoken are so loud
Tenderness lost to the proud

How many hours in a mile
How many tears in a smile
The river of life flows on
When all but hope, as gone.
