Who's To Blame

If the new born knew
that hunger rages in this world
would he cry for his mother’s milk?
Would he want to be dressed in silk
if he knew that somewhere else
children are dying for his silk?
Maybe he would feel this shame
But the new born is not to blame

Grow little child! No guilt lays on you
A better tomorrow depends on what you will do

So soon you will recognize
you have to fight to survive
and sometimes leave someone beaten behind
hence you can clothe your child in silk
which will have been made by the children
of those you once left beaten behind

Now would your new born cry
for his mother’s milk if he knew
that hunger rages in this world?
Maybe he would feel this shame
But your new born is not to blame.
