Ptsd (A Heavy Metal Song)

Poem By William McGehee

His face was hidden
Beneath large, dark glasses
Synthetic hair askew,
Make-up slightly smeared.

He was breathing unevenly
As though he had been running.
Underneath the make-up that made him look older

Sonnet #1

Sonnet #1
I’m not quite sure how to write a sonnet
So I’ll start with just a few simple lines.
If I correctly write this sonnet

I really thought you were my friend
But you turned your back on me.

I thought i could trust you

Did You?

Did you really mean everything you said?
Was it all a lie?
Or was it just pretend?

Through my dreams.
My hopes and thoughts
Torn and ripped at the seams

Best Friends

Remember the times we would come inside,
From playing in the snow,
And have big mugs of hot cocoa,
With the really big marshmallows?

Flight to the moon;
Stars close enough just reach out and touch.
I'll catch one
And bring it back just for you.
