Winter

Poem By Troy William Smith

Winter is near, the days draw in
Damp windy and grey
The cold air gets thin

Brown and yellow, shades of gold
Slippery piles of compost
Winter gets hold

Last weekend in October
days become night
Sun you don’t see, through clouds he must fight

Scarfs gloves jackets, come out to play
Clouds all around
The sun tan fades away

Winter is coming when day turns to night
