Wishes

I wish that I could have the wishes;
That I wish tonight.
Id' wish for health and happiness;
For things to go aright. I'd wish to share the good and bad;
With those I hold so dear;
To share the bitter with the sweet;
To see my duty clear. I'd wish for courage and for strength;
To do the best I can;
For faith, and hope, and charity;
To love my fellowman. But most of all I'd wish lost souls
Could see their pathways clear.
That they would kneel and humbly pray,
And find Christ near and dear. If I could lead more souls to Christ;
If I could only swear:
"Dear Lord, I've done the best I could."
I'd be a millionaire.
