Would Savannah Be The Next To Mourn

Would Savannah be the next to mourn?
Would she be spared each time?
Does she face certain forlorn?
Must she surely pine?
We wept for Charleston, Miami, Cape Fear,
And those whose destiny would be,
But wonder what plight yet awaits
The fairest "city by the sea."
For years the storms eluded us
As we narrowly escaped:
The threat of each potential hit
Could have sealed our fate.
Never on our laurels retire,
But prayerfully we brace the winds,
Trusting that each year, our God
Will see us through November's end.
Dearest "city by the sea,"
Savannah is your name;
Blessed! How blessed you are...
To be sheltered from the hurricanes.
