Leaving town in the early morning light
The sun was just rising shining so bright
Driving down the winding road
In my old beat up flatbed Ford
The sun was low blinding me
That big Mercedes- wagon I never did see
The shattering of glass the sound of twisting steel
As it road over me I could not feel
I am gone now I am no more
Tangled in the useless wreck upon the floor
My last thoughts were of my family
My wife my children I will never see! ! !
As my life ebbs away
The only thing I can think to say
O I only hope they will be ok
Until we are together on some distant day
Joined again to love as one
Back with each other to enjoy our fun
Until then please don’t cry
A wave a smile then goodbye
