Yellow Medallions

Evening comes like
Dancing mirrors
Over farmers field
Of blackeyed susans
And butterfly lace.
Sifting shadows.
Of yellow medallions
In crevices of tall
Green and brown grass
And clovered space.
Pulling light in every
Direction
The blackeyed susans
Stately stands
Yellow medallions
Dance like mirrors
Scattered throughout
The meadow land.
