You And I

Poem By Kayci Lamb

the tides roll in
the tides roll out

the day tolls on
the night tolls in

the ball goes up
the ball goes down

the leaves bloom
the leaves fall

the winter comes
the winter leaves

the heart aches
the heart heals

the tears pool
the tears dry

the child ages
the child dies

some things
are meant to be

I Wish I Was The Moon

i wish i was the moon
i could be your protector
your light in the dark

Don'T Look Back

two am i turn on pbs
i see a red muppet looking for us
he asked me to count to ten
i scoffed and then

witnessing the start
of a piece of art
a princess loved,
but never told

every time i remember you exist
i salt my tongue
every word i said to you
is an open wound

Reveal Me

you'll find me under the floorboards
reeking of formaldehyde and rosemary
i watch and wait for you
to pick back the wooden planks

bite my teeth
you've got melodies in your joints
pick my nails
you've got tv screens in your eyes
