You Don'T Know What It's Like

You don’t know what it’s like to feel despair,
Until you’ve spent a day in my shoes.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel pain,
Until you have been beat by your loved ones.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel torment,
Until you’ve listened to the demons in my head.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel dejection,
Until you have walked alone.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel agony,
Until you’ve held the gun to your head.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel cruelty,
Until you have been laughed at.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel misery,
Until you stand on the ledge to debate the jump.
You don’t know what it’s like to feel hopelessness,
Until you have been me.

i agree with john kay...it's a thing a lot of poets have...we breed on our misery...i guess u have felt and portrayed very cruel situations...some of my poetry may reflect the hurt and pain...altho i can never put to words the agony i've been thru...the life that i live every day! ! I try to find the good thing in life or take my anger out on something else...u shud read Fire In Ice from my collection! ! Luv VidZ
When you feel this much pain, and it appears that everyone else is happy, you can feel awfully alone. You're in the right house here. Most poets have felt these feelings, felt hopeless. I like the strategy of the poem-the list; and I think you could write individual poems about each item in the list. I see this is your first poem. Welcome to the website.
