Your Sweetened Forgiveness

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

I came to apologize.
I did not expect,
Your sweetened forgiveness.

And suddenly it occurred to me,
The last time I stung you...
You growled and exposed your fangs.

I wonder...
Is it possible that big smile on your face,
Can be transferred to show some of it...
In your eyes?

Don't be so suspicious.
Come on in.
I've been keeping a surprise for you.'
