Robert Louis Stevenson Comments (25)

A loved poem of my childhood which I have revisited. It is a lovely poem which revives many happy memories of mom reading and rereading it to us.
One of my favorite and one of the greatest poets and authors of all times

Lovely ☺
its amazing how much he has written in his short life. 239 poems! ! ! and all his books.
The fact that he wrote 239 different poems plus his books in his 45 years of living is amazing. I have only read 4 of his works and I want to read more

best poem writer... and my favorite...
Always one of my favorites!
One of the most romantic minds of all times.
(from Wiki) Stevenson had always wanted his 'Requiem' inscribed on his tomb: '' Under the wide and starry sky, Dig the grave and let me lie. Glad did I live and gladly die, And I laid me down with a will. This be the verse you grave for me: Here he lies where he longed to be; Home is the sailor, home from sea, And the hunter home from the hill. '' - However, the piece is MISQUOTED in many places, including his tomb: Home is the sailor, home from THE sea, And the hunter home from the hill.
awesome person awesome poems
It is right to see such a gentle man look harsh, because he has trodden down and known so much of a harsh world in order to command that visage in life. A goodly poet
