Sarita Jenamani (India /Austria) was born in Cuttack, Orissa. She studied Economics and Management Studies in India and Austria. She writes in English, Hindi as well as in Oriya, her mother tongue. She is the author of three books of poetry. Her poems are translated into many languages. She has been published in a number of anthologies and international literary journal including the prestigious PEN international. She has translated Rose Ausläner into Hindi for which she received a scholarship from The Arts and Culture Division of the Federal Chancellery of Austria. She received many writers fellowship in Germany as well as in Austria including ‘’Künstlerdorf Schöppingen’’and Heinrich Böll foundation. She was awarded with the prize of Kultur verein Inzing in 2006. She took part in various literary festivals both in Austria and outside Austria. Presently she is living and working in Vienna. She is a member of Austrian chapter of PEN international.
