This poem is powerful and well worth reading again and again. But it was not written by Sean Wright, but by the Rev. George Studdert-Kennedy (also known as Woodbine, for as chaplain to British troops in the first World War, he generally carried and generously distributed cigarettes to the troops in his care.)
